A gem located on the Costa Del Sol, Marbella stands out for its combination of attractions, adventure, entertainment, shopping, food and lifestyle. With wonderful beaches and surrounding countryside of mountains it has something for everyone, from families to jet setters, thrill seekers to art lovers; it offers everything you could want from Spain’s wonderful culture and boasts all year-round pleasant weather. Due to its position, with the Mediterranean Sea and beaches to the south and the Sierra Blanca mountain range to the north, Marbella enjoys a wonderfully pleasant micro-climate and is a natural sun-trap. Other areas nearby may bluster with wind, rough seas and spray, yet Marbella remains calm and pleasant.
Marbella has beaches to suit everyone. Elviria, which has become very popular in recent years due to its clean water and long sandy beaches, is a favourite among residents and tourists. It has plenty of amenities for all the family and offers berthing facilities for boats at the nearby port of Cabopino, Close by we find the Artola Dunes, which is a protected nature reserve. The beach is not backed by urbanisation, making it a very attractive beach in the area. This is thanks to a group of local residents who over the past years have managed to put a halt to any new construction taking place.
Shopping in Marbella is excellent, so whether you want to spend your time shopping or simply go strolling and window shopping it’s a wonderful place to be. There are designer boutiques and leading brands in the Avenida Ricardo Soriano and in the front of Puerto Banús, for jewellery and clothes and if you prefer to do your shopping out of the heat try El Corte Ingles or La Cañada shopping centre where you can find most anything you desire under an airconditioned roof.
